Prof. Hannelie Meyer is a Full Professor in the Division of Public Health Pharmacy and Management at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU). She specialises in vaccine safety, antimicrobial stewardship, and rational medicine use. Prof. Meyer is a scientific advisor on pharmacovigilance and cold chain management for the South African Vaccination and Immunisation Centre (SAVIC) at SMU. Prof. Meyer chairs the National Immunisation Safety Expert Committee and serves on the National Advisory Group on Immunisation. Her research strengthens vaccination and primary healthcare services, aiming to improve public health and contribute to the sustainable development goal of good health and well-being for all South Africans. She has supervised 52 Master’s and three doctoral students and authored numerous papers and conference presentations.
