Ms. Grace Chan has dedicated over 26 years to social welfare and is currently the Business Director of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS). She is also an International Vice President and Board Member of the International Federation on Ageing, showcasing her commitment to enhancing the lives of older adults.
Her expertise in ageing has led to numerous influential roles, including membership in the WHO Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities’ Strategic Advisory Group in 2013, as well as service on the Elderly Commission and various Hong Kong statutory committees and boards.
Ms. Chan specializes in long-term care, age-friendly cities, elderly participation, lifelong learning, and technology for ageing. In 2017, she founded the Innovation and Technology for Ageing team at HKCSS. Under her leadership, several innovative services were created, including the Tele-practice Platform, Gerontechnology Platform, Jockey Club “Age at Home” Gerontech Education and Rental Service, and the Stair Climbing Service.
In recognition of her work, Ms. Chan was honored in 2019 with the Ageing Asia Global Ageing Influencer Award, acknowledging her significant impact on ageing in the Asia Pacific region. Through her leadership, Ms. Chan continues to drive positive change in the field of ageing.
